Your Blueprint for Ringette Success

Discover How Retreat 2009
Will Change Your Ringette Life Forever

    Lisa Brown

From the desk of Lisa L. Brown

    Dear Friend,

In 2009, I'm reaching deep inside my personal success toolbox to offer you what I consider to be the most transformational, highly effective ringette, fitness, and mental toughness strategies ever assembled into a ringette program in one place...

Here’s what this is all about. For the last 15 years, I’ve been hunting down…testing…and proving little-known ways to literally force any player skyrocket to the top, no matter what raw skills she started with. In these years, I've made all the “rookie” mistakes, learned my lessons, fixed the problems and honed the stuff that works to get you to take it to the next level in ringette with almost-frightening effectiveness. And it’s paid off, amazingly well. My ringette school bag of tricks is now bursting with specific no-brainer ways to automatically put balloon your confidence and skills, no matter how old you are. It’s an actual SYSTEM you will learn for how to get better every time you step on the ice, all year round.

At Superskills 2009, you're going to discover the never-before taught
insider Courage to Win Blueprint for Ringette Success that has been tested and proven by the world's best players. Learn how to skate faster, score more goals, stonewall forwards, own the ring, and be the aggressive, clutch player that every coach worships.

At the Retreat 2009, we're laying out an in-depth blueprint for ringette stardom including nutrition, mental toughness, fitness, skating, and superior ringette technique.

      What's New in 2009?

The Blueprint for Ringette Success has elements you've never seen or heard before in our sport. Check out what's NEW in 2009.

1 - What's the Courage to Win Blueprint for Ringette Success?

Lisa: The Courage to Win Blueprint for Ringette Success is all about playing ringette smarter than everyone around you because you understand the game of ringette--including how to make yourself better every time you play and practice.

The Blueprint is a really simple SYSTEM for improving your ringette skills, your mental toughness, your fitness, and nutrition to make a quantum leap in your game -- without spending extra time. You simply play ringette, exercise, and eat differently than other players. That's what we're teaching at Retreat 2009, and even very young players can learn it.

2 - What’s wrong with the way most girls approach ringette now?

Lisa: Frankly, most players do not reach their potential, but it's not because they're lazy. It's because they don't know how to make themselves better every time they step on the ice. Amazing, isn't it? Thousands of players under perform each year because they miss the really important stuff. Many, many players finish the season disappointed. And they hurt tremendously because they don't know why they aren't getting better.

The blunt truth is that players who are ten times more successful at ringette don't work 10 times harder. They work smarter. You can do the same shooting drill 234 times, hit the goalie every time, and still not know why. Only when you know the 3 keys to goal-scoring and are practising them properly will you consistently terrorize goalies.

      3. - Can I ask you for some specific examples of how what will be NEW in 2009 at the Retreat?

      Lisa: Sure. Here's a list:

      1. You'll learn advanced checking techniques for stealing the ring that have never been taught at the Retreat before.

      2. You'll discover some of my serious sniper moves for out-smarting goalies--that we've never revealed at the Retreat before.

      3. You'll receive an indepth nutrition session to give you maximum energy at games and tournaments.

      4. You'll learn new techniques for explosive skating that we've unearthed from a secret, non-ringette source.

      5. You'll get advanced fitness and conditioning techniques that will make you a veritable Iron Woman this season!

      6. You'll learn how to bring the ring out of your end using your smarts and you teammates--new strategies that have not been released before now.

      7. You'll get the Courage to Win mental toughness program for ringette success, straight from my NEW Courage to Win in sport program for athletes.

Obviously, we'll teach you ringette fundamentals, but you'll also learn how to make yourself better every time you play. This is the Retreat blueprint for success.

4 - What about the off ice program?

Lisa - That's why we've called it The Courage to Win - because we're teaching the off ice ingredients to athlete success. There will be a full-fledged fitness program, an indepth nutrition session, and a courage to win mental toughness program. These sessions have been designed to capture the imagination of young athletes while giving them the knowledge to conquer the intangibles of sport. But, fun is always paramount at our camps.

Everyone had more fun that a tub full of monkeys at Retreat 2008,
and that will continue in 2009!

5 - What are the limitations of all this? Are there players who can’t use your methods?

Lisa: If there are, I haven’t found them yet. I’ve been applying, refining and teaching my various elements of these methods since 1993, and over 7,000 athletes have taken advantage of them already. The only limitation is that the younger you are, the more time you'll have to spend mastering the fundamentals. But, we've taken this into account in customizing on program for each age division. We've also take care to give you FREE Bonus Gifts (below). When you become a customer this year, you automatically become one of our Inner Circle members - and as a member, there's nothing you can't learn about ringette for FREE simply by reviewing the ringette strategies, tips, and tactics we send you each week.

How do I dare do such a thing? Well, I'm certain you will benefit tremendously. This program and the all-star instructors who teach it is the best of the best, and after 15 years and 7,743 participants, I know you'll be thrilled you came. To hear what these participants had to say, click here. And in 2009, were going to deliver more value than ever before.

    A few caveats.

Retreat Superskills 2009 Camp Is Not For Everyone

Our 2009 improvements got rave reviews and we're keeping them. Please read them carefully, because a successful camp is a two way street, and Retreat 2009 is not for everyone.

#1 - GROUPS WILL BE TIGHTLY FORMED AND CAPPED AT 30 SKATERS plus GOALIES.
Players at the Retreat will be placed in peer groups that match their age, playing experience, and caliber to ensure you are challenged. Also, every group with NO EXCEPTIONS -- will be strictly limited to 30 skaters plus goalies. So: if your daughter is 12 and you want her with 14 year olds, and in the unlikely event we cannot accommodate you, you will be exceedingly upset even though your daughter is with her peers and every reasonable effort has been made to satisfy you, Retreat 2009 is not for you.Or, if you want your daughter to change groups, but refuse to ask for a change on Day 1 despite being encouraged to, then Retreat 2009 is not for you. I repeat: camp is a team event; therefore, group placement at camp is a preference, not a right, of individual players. If this principle upsets you, then Retreat 2009 is not for you.

#2 - PLAYERS WILL HAVE AIRTIGHT SUPERVISION
Your group will be supervised by a minimum of 4-6 instructors on the ice and 2 or more instructors off the ice. Instructors will religiously adhere to our strict guidelines including check in and check outs; taking attendance; and mandatory player participation in all activities (unless injured). Players are never allowed to leave the arena site for any reason. There is virtually no free time at camp. The schedule is jam-packed. The older I get, the more controlling I get. So, if you want your daughter to have a lot of free time, then Retreat 2009 is not for you.

#3 -- PLAYERS WILL HAVE EVEN MORE ASSISTANCE GETTING READY FOR ICE.
Our staff has a rigorous skate-tying schedule to make sure your daughter is ready for ice. Every player will have ample help available to get her ready for ice, so you can go to work and not worry. However: if you love tying your daughters skates, dismiss instructors from the dressing room by re-assuring them that help isn't needed, and then later claim that help wasn't available, Retreat 2009 is not for you.

#4 -- ROLE OF LISA BROWN
My role in your camp will be staggering--from designing the on and off ice programs, to certifying staff, to personally overseeing every detail of the Retreat's operation. My role has evolved to one of masterminding your camp, not delivering instruction personally. In a given day at camp, there can be anywhere from 12 to 21 ice sessions. To get inspirational, consistent coaching you cannot rely on one instructor. You must have a team of certified instructors teaching a dynamite program there for you. So, if you are attached to me as an instructor, Retreat 2009 is not for you.

    The bottom line:

A successful camp is a two way street. For you to get the most out of camp, you need to a) communicate your needs to us and b) understand what is and is not possible for us to provide during your week.

PS: Retreat SuperSkills 2009 WILL give you a stomp-and-befuddle-the-competition advantage, WILL change the way you practice, WILL increase your ringette success, WILL enhance your fitness and conditioning, WILL give you an unforgettable week to cherish.

I loved my week at Ringette Retreat. I improved my skating and especially my cross-overs. I learned something new everyday and by the end of the week I was really fast.

At conditioning camp this fall I did every drill well including the backwards races with cross-overs which I couldn't do last year. I was proud because the camp was for Petite level girls and I kept up with my older sister and her friends who are terrific players.

I have a sign on the door of my room that says, 'You miss every shot that you don't take.' This season I want to improve my wrist shot that I tried and did for the first time when I was at your ringette retreat. Thanks for a great time and helping me to be a stronger player!

At camp I learned that it is important to work hard and listen to the coaches.

I have been practicing hard in September and working on improving my skating. I feel like i am skating better by bending my knees and striding like you taught me at camp.

    Beth Dunn, 11, New Brunswick

I had a super time at the Retreat Camp in Moncton and loved every minute of it. I met a lot of new people and good instructors that will stay with me forever.

Playing with such great athletes improved my game so much! It helped boost my confidence and my skills.

I've learn so much at your camp! The improvement in my skating, stabbing the ring, and wrist shot has all paid off. I've earned a forward position on the competitive team.

As for my house league team, I play center and at our first game I lead the team with 5 goals and 1 assist.

    Thank you Lisa

At the Ringette Retreat I learned that whatever you do on the ice (or off the ice), you should always be having fun. It makes the drills and hard work so much easier if you smile and keep a positive attitude.

On my team this year we lost a few games, but because the girls keep smiling and having fun it made us a stronger team. At Lisa Brown's camp we were always smiling but boy did she make us work hard! It was great and I can't wait to back to the ringette retreat again next year.

Ringette camp was a great time I made lots of new friends and had a blast. I would go back anytime.

I learned a lot of new stuff and it sure payed off. When it came to tryouts. I took everything I learned and used it on the ice. I achieved my goal of making the A team!

Vanessa Turanich, 14, Saskatoon (pictured left)

My daughter attended the Goulbourn camp '07. It was an amazing camp and very well run. My daughters improvement in just one week was huge. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and worked well with the girls. The worst thing at the camp my daughter said was the end. She'll definitely be back next summer.
